HARKER RENOVATION

This historic craftsman home, built in 1900 and at one time a school, is now home to a busy Palo Alto family of four. The home needed an interior refresh to open up the first floor allowing for better flow, natural light to pass through and for larger groups of family and friends to gather.

Fiorella Design removed walls and relocated windows. We designed a new kitchen, dining nook, pantry spaces, mud room space, living room, den and dining room and renovated the guest bathroom to create a larger shower and overall better use of the space. Our design created and organized symmetry to allow the kitchen to open to the living room. We created focal points in the range hood, the fireplace and the perpendicular direction, allowing views from the front to the back of the home. Per our client’s request, we incorporated the color blue throughout. We kept the home’s craftsman aesthetic, but re-imagined it in a brighter, more modern way.

Fiorella Design not only designed the overall interior renovation, we managed all construction, and completed the home design with selection of all the furniture, decorative lighting and decor shown.
